Legends tell of a celestial race, where each animal secured a place on the heavenly roster; the Goat, known for its gentle perseverance, claimed the eighth slot after a long, steady trek across the river.

Centuries later, imperial courts refined the zodiac’s symbolism, embedding the Goat’s traits—creativity, compassion, and resilience—into court poetry, folk art, and seasonal rituals.
